Clark College in Vancouver, Washington, recently hosted an Opening Day award ceremony to honor employee achievements. Several categories recognized outstanding contributions in different areas.

The Exceptional Faculty Award was given to Robert Weston from Mathematics, Allison Syes from Fine Arts, Chris Smith from English, Melanie Hendry from Culinary, James "Ron" Powers from Business, Jill Darly-Vanis from English, and Joe Cha from Business. Julie Donovan from Grants Development received the Exceptional Administrative-Exempt Award.

Two Exceptional Classified Staff Awards were presented to Trish Fitzsimons from Community & Continuing Education and Manda Levie from Social Sciences & Fine Arts. The Lora Whitfield Social Equity Award was awarded to Angela Childers and Audrie Villaneuva from the Disability Access Center.

Sally Demos received a special 40-year service award, marking her long-standing commitment to the college.
