Wake County Government posted a message during #PetPreparednessMonth encouraging residents to prepare their pets.

The post asked whether pets have “swag” like the Wake County Sheriff’s Office therapy K-9s and said residents should look into microchipping for their furry family members.

Wake County also advised pet owners to research where they can bring their pets in case of an evacuation. The post said more pet preparedness tips would be shared during the month and directed residents to www.wake.gov/petprep for more information.
